7 weeks later, 1st day on the beach

I can't believe we've had Yari for almost 2 months! He's growing up way too quickly. His legs are at least twice as long and he's gained about 5 pounds.

The dog culture in San Francisco is a bizarre little world. We continue to meet the same dogs and owners throughout the city and everyone is known by their dog. We're Yari's mom and dad. Can't remember any of the owners name but definitely know who their dogs are!

I woke up to fog-free skies this morning so I was definitely taking Yari for his first beach outing. After a couple beers at the Park Chalet we crossed the road to Ocean Beach. He was a little hesitant to the new terrain but once we got to the hard pack sand he had no problem chasing me and even splashed in the receding waters when the waves crashed onto the beach.

Kirby Cove Camping

Just over the Golden Gate bridge is Kirby Cove. With only four campsites reservations are hard to get and had to be made 6 months ago. We woke up to a very chilly and foggy day (at least on our side of the bay!). It made for some very cold camping. Luckily we had lots of firewood and Mandy's jello shots to help keep us warm.

Kim made a very impressive koala and a kiwi bird pinata for Tony's birthday. See Video

Here's trying to learn how to use the timer feature on my camera.

Pretty spectacular view of the Golden Gate bridge after sunset.

Wedding, Part 2

Dana and Joe held their second wedding at the Meijer Botanical Gardens. Storms threatened Dana's hopes of having some outdoor photos taken but fortunately the rain never came. I think my parents were definitely more nervous about this wedding since the guests were mostly their friends and family. The second wedding didn't hold the same anticipation of events and the whole weekend really felt like a big family reunion.

Happy 2 year anniversary, Tater Tot!

I can't believe I've had Tater Tot for 2 years! She's almost 3 years old. I surprised her with a new chinchilla shaped dust bath container. What a cutie! She's seems a little more used to Yari now. Hopefully the two of them will get along some day!

Beer Can Man Party

Erik and I celebrated our birthdays by throwing a party in Golden Gate park on the 4th of July. The foggy weather didn't deter our friends from helping us build our Beer Can Man and his sidekick, Beer Can Dog.

Birthday at Park Chalet

On Monday, Yari got his last parvo shot so we took him to the Park Chalet to celebrate my birthday. Friends gathered to enjoy an unusual fog-free evening by the ocean. Here he is at the end of the night, trying to stay warm.
