My body is still recovering from three pretty full days of snowboarding at Kirkwood for the Burton Women's Weekend. Jiri, Sherri and I drove up Thursday night. Our rustic mini cabin at Caples Lake Resort was practically snowed in, you couldn't even see outside the windows! Kirkwood had gotten over 8 feet of snow during the past week!
We woke up early every day and were on the mountain by 9:30am and passed out exhausted by 9:30pm.
Saturday night we finally checked out the Kirkwood Inn & Saloon. The food was especially delicious to our famished group and the old cabin setting was really cozy.
We were oblivious to the time change on Sunday and were so confused when it was dark when the alarm rang. Our cell phones had automatically changed even though we were out of cell phone range. The car clock clued us in that there was something amiss.
Good snow, good weather, good company and lots of snowboarding! Oh, Sherri and I did skip out the last hour or so of the weekend so we get back to San Francisco a bit earlier. We passed through the electric green hills and drove by the interesting 26" rims sticker car.
